The German company Skylance has successfully conducted the first flight tests of the DroneHammer, a laser-guided missile designed to economically neutralize small drones.

Weighing only 700 grams and measuring 70 centimeters in length, the weapon is expected to undergo further size reductions before development is completed, scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

The system will be evaluated later this year at the Defense Technology Center in Manching. Its features include a pneumatic warhead, which replaces explosives with a compressed carbon dioxide cylinder capable of dispersing fragments similar to a shotgun blast. This solution has already demonstrated effectiveness in tests against Class 1 drones, according to the company.

With an interception speed exceeding 500 km/h and a range of over 600 meters, the DroneHammer can be launched from the shoulder, ground platforms, or combat drones.

The project, initially developed by e-Wolf and WARGdrones and presented at the AFCEA fair in May 2025, is now under the responsibility of Skylance, which intends to produce the missile in series at a cost of a few thousand euros.
